University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine

The University of Nevada, Reno is seeking a Coordinator, MD Pathway Programs supporting the University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine (UNR Med) by overseeing the administration and daily operations of the Post-Baccalaureate Program, Assured Seat Program, and Bridge Program. This position is responsible for ensuring effective program operations, student support, recruitment, and student progression while collaborating closely with faculty, staff, and campus partners to prepare students for medical school success.

The Coordinator works closely with the Director of Pathway Programs, Admissions, Student Affairs, and academic departments to support program development, curriculum coordination, and continuous program improvement. Responsibilities include coordinating student communications and programming, monitoring student progress and outcomes, supporting recruitment and outreach efforts, and supervising assigned staff. This position also supports academic and co-curricular programming designed to enhance student readiness for medical school and may serve as Instructor of Record for undergraduate pre-med or pathway courses as part of the regular workload.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day operations of pathway programs, including admissions, enrollment, curriculum coordination, and program assessment
  • Monitor student progress, performance, and academic milestones
  • Support student communications, orientation, promotions, and conduct/academic review processes
  • Collaborate with Admissions, Student Affairs, Registrar, and campus partners on program operations and student advancement
  • Coordinate workshops, courses, co-curricular programming, recruitment, and outreach activities
  • Supervise assigned staff and support program improvement initiatives and special projects

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and three (3) years of related experience OR

Master's Degree and two (2) years of related experience

Experience:

Program management and student support, preferably with undergraduate populations or related experience.

Schedule

This position may require a variable schedule, including occasional evenings, weekends, and travel to support program and recruitment activities.

Compensation Grade

Administrative Faculty - B

Grants-in-Aid for Faculty Employees
