Parks And Recreation Department Opportunities

The City of Reno Parks and Recreation Department has many positions available that cater to different interests and skills. Hourly rate and hours vary by position and may include evenings, weekends and holidays.

Available Part-time/Temporary Positions:

  • Inclusion/Behavior Specialist ($20-26/hour) (Available in a part-time/temporary capacity year-round)

* The City of Reno does not currently have openings in the Inclusion Division but is currently accepting applications for future opportunities.

Examples of Essential Functions

Inclusion/Behavior Specialist:

  • Trains staff on how to work with persons with disabilities to better include them in a traditional program settings
  • Provide services directly and indirectly to a variety of individuals with cognitive, behavioral, and physical disabilities.
  • May develop behavior/inclusion plans and instruct staff on implementation and modifying activities on a case by case basis.
  • As assigned, conducts client observations and/or assessments and evaluates individual cases.
Minimum Qualifications

Inclusion/Behavior Specialist:

  • Age: 18
  • Education:

    High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience:

    One year paid experience working with youth in a recreational setting
  • License:
    Valid driver's license
  • Preferred Qualifications:

    Education:

    College level courses related to disabilities or a related field
  • Experience:

    One year experience working with people with disabilities
  • Certifications:

    CPR/AED, First Aid
