Job DescriptionThe Orvis School of Nursing (OSN) at the University of Nevada, Reno invites applications for an Academic Advisor
2. This position plays a key role in supporting student success through academic advising, admissions, recruitment, retention initiatives, and student-centered programming.
The Academic Advisor 2 provides comprehensive advising to undergraduate nursing students, including academic planning, course scheduling, progression requirements, degree completion, and guidance for admission to and success within nursing programs. The position serves as a primary resource on nursing program requirements, university policies, and student support services.
The successful candidate will also support the admissions process by reviewing applications, assisting prospective students, and providing guidance throughout the application process. Additional responsibilities include developing targeted advising and intervention strategies, participating in recruitment and outreach activities, collaborating with faculty and staff on student success initiatives, and building relationships with community partners to promote nursing education.
Required QualificationsBachelor's Degree and (2) two years of related work experience or a Master's Degree and (1) two year of related work experience. Related experience:
Academic advising, teaching, student services or related fields.
