The Para educator Assistant II is regularly required to perform academic instructional assistance for a significant portion of the assignment in a Special Education classroom. Additionally, a Para educator Assistant II working at a Title I school must be highly qualified. The role requires additional intensive training beyond that of a Para educator Aide II, including student data collection, communication strategies, severe behaviors, positive behavior management for Autism Spectrum Disorders, and independent preparation of materials, implementation of behaviorally based instruction, and vocational training on a daily basis.

• Assists teaching staff in classroom and related areas; prepares lesson outlines, plans, and teaching aids.
• Presents subject matter to students using a variety of teaching methods, both traditional and non‑traditional.
• Assists students individually or in groups with lesson assignments and reinforces learning concepts.
• Prepares, administers, and grades examinations and homework assignments.
• Observes student progress, identifies problem areas, and recommends referrals to classroom teacher.
• Confers with classroom teacher and parent on student progress.
• Prepares classrooms and audio‑visual equipment for use; orders supplies and equipment.
• Maintains classroom bulletin boards and assists in keeping discipline and order on playgrounds, in lunchroom, school halls, library, and study halls.
• Operates standard office equipment.

Provides services to 3‑5 year‑olds with disabilities, offering a developmentally appropriate curriculum addressing literacy, math readiness, motor skills, self‑help, communication, and social skills.

Focuses on social‑emotional development and serves students with behavioral challenges in a small group setting, combining EC practices with SIP practices.

Emphasizes communication and social‑emotional skill development for students with autism, using a variety of strategies and extensive data collection in a small group setting.

Provides a co‑teaching model in kindergarten, addressing all developmental areas and kindergarten standards.

Builds foundational life skills in a rich academic environment for students with cognitive disabilities, aligning with Nevada State Standards and utilizing alternative curriculum.

Offers support for students with significant emotional/behavioral needs within the regular school setting, with a structured behavior management program and positive reinforcement.

Supports students on the autism spectrum with systematic instruction in language, routines, academic skills, play, social skills, motor skills, and functional behaviors, using discrete trial teaching and visual supports.

Provides a special social skill curriculum focusing on social thinking, coping skills, and individualized behavioral targets with data‑based decision making.

Assists students with hearing impairments to access curriculum using appropriate questioning, discussion techniques, and technology, and ensures effective instructional practices for this population.

Supports students with visual impairments in accessing curricular and expanded core materials, including braille, low‑vision strategies, and assistive technology.
