Position: Veteran Benefits Certifying Official - Admissions and Records

The University of Nevada, Reno is recruiting for a Veteran Benefits Certifying Official (VBCO). The VBCO is responsible for administering and certifying veterans' education benefits in compliance with U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) regulations and institutional policies. This role serves as the primary liaison between the institution, student veterans and dependents, and external agencies to ensure accurate certification, timely payments, and regulatory compliance while providing high-quality customer service to military-affiliated students.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and (2) two years of related work experience or a Master's Degree and (1) one year of related work experience. Related experience:
Working in higher education administration, academic advising, student services, registrar, or financial aid or equivalent, or related field.

Grants-in-Aid for Faculty Employees

The University is proud to provide a reduced-rate tuition benefit to faculty and qualified dependents. Faculty can take up to six credits per semester at a reduced rate. Dependents of faculty have unlimited credits, but in order to be eligible children must be unmarried and under the age of 24 and must receive at least 50% of their financial support from the employee and/or employee's spouse or domestic partner.
