The University of Nevada, Reno Extension, is recruiting for a full-time Administrative Faculty position as the Community Wildfire Preparedness Coordinator with the Living With Fire program. This position is located in Reno, NV, and reports to the Living With Fire Program Director.

The Living With Fire (LWF) Program is a statewide interagency effort coordinated by the University of Nevada Cooperative Extension (UNCE) that teaches communities to live more safely in wildfire-prone regions. This Coordinator, Community Wildfire Preparedness, will work directly with federal agencies and community partners to update and create Community Wildfire Protection Plans (CWPPs) throughout Nevada. The position is funded for three years with potential for continuation based on funding.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree and two (2) years of related work experience, OR Master's Degree and one (1) year of related work experience. Related

Experience:

Natural Resources, Ecology, Environmental Science, Computer Science, Social Sciences, or other closely related field; project coordination or related field. This position requires candidates to complete a fingerprinting/background check.

Preferred Qualifications:

Candidates with excellent verbal and written communication skills, including editing and public speaking in person, on radio, and via television, are encouraged to apply. Candidates with spatial data analysis, meeting facilitation, interpersonal communications and public relations, and/or organization and administrative skills are encouraged to apply.

Licensure: A valid Class "C" driver's license or higher operator's license within 30 days of appointment.

Schedule and Travel:
Variable work schedule. Regular travel to community and stakeholder events across Nevada.

Compensation:
Administrative Faculty –

B. This position's salary range is $57,000-$74,000. Salary is based on related education, experience, internal equity, and budgets. To view the salary schedule for this position, please visit:

Grants-in-Aid for Faculty Employees:
