Role Overview
Primary Teacher, Preschool Classroom – Child Development Center.

Preschool (2-3.5 years). Compensation: $23.25-$26.50 per hour.
- Primary caregiving for infants, preschoolers, and pre‑kindergarten children, maintaining ratio of 1:3 (infants), 1:7 (preschoolers), 1:9 (pre‑kindergarten).
- Track development of primary students, manage classroom transitions and integration hours.
- Complete routine assessments, including learning stories and Ages and Stages Questionnaire, and share information during parent‑teacher conferences.
- Co‑create and organize a stimulating, developmentally appropriate learning environment inside and outside the classroom.
- Ensure visual supervision and child safety at all times.
- Design emergent curriculum that meets individual learning styles of children in care.
- Maintain a structured routine with scheduled meal and rest breaks and a flexible daily schedule.
- Build respectful relationships with parents, children, and co‑teachers, respecting cultural and socioeconomic diversity.
- Communicate clearly with children using developmentally appropriate language and with parents through in‑person conversations, email, newsletters, bulletin boards, and the Educa platform.
- Address emergencies and child safety matters; perform physical tasks such as kneeling, sitting on the floor, first aid, and lifting up to 35+ pounds as needed.
- High school graduate.
- At least 2 years of experience working with young children (minimum 150 hours in the last 6 months).
- Proficient in building trusting relationships with children and families.
- Experience collaborating with a direct team.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with basic computer programs (Word, Excel, Microsoft Teams, Outlook).
- Successful criminal background check and clearance by obtaining a Memo of Eligibility in NV.
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish preferred.
- Completion of 15 units in Early Childhood Education or related field; 3 infant/toddler units for infant classroom.
- Knowledge of R.I.E. approach, Outdoor Classroom, Anti‑Bias Education, Educa, and other developmental philosophies.
Commitment to a minimum of one year at the Center before pursuing other career opportunities, and discussion with manager regarding classroom ratios and stability.
