The University of Nevada, Reno is recruiting for a Research Administrator, Pre-Award in the Office of Sponsored Projects. Research is a vital mission of the University of Nevada, Reno. The primary responsibilities of the Research Administrators consist of assisting and serving faculty and staff in seeking and managing sponsored funding for research, service projects, and other creative activities. The Research Administrators are responsible for ensuring programmatic and fiscal accountability for stewardship of public funds.
This position also serves as a point of contact for liaison between the University and federal agencies, foundations, private industry, state, and local agencies. The Research Administrator assists faculty with proposal review and processing of Requests for Proposals (RFP) to determine sponsor regulatory requirements, proposal submission methods, certifications and terms. The position completes the initial review of proposals prior to signature.
Where tight time constraints apply, the position may approve proposals and contracts without further review.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree and two (2) years of related work experience; OR Master's Degree and one (1) year of related work experience required. Related

Administration or research compliance or a related field.

Occasional overnight travel for conferences

Grants-in-Aid for Faculty Employees
The University is proud to provide a reduced-rate tuition benefit to faculty and qualified dependents. Faculty can take up to six credits per semester at a reduced rate. Dependents of faculty have unlimited credits, but in order to be eligible children must be unmarried and under the age of 24 and must receive at least 50% of their financial support from the employee and/or employee's spouse or domestic partner.
