Job Description

The Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Science (NRES) at the University of Nevada, Reno invites applications for a continuing, full-time (non-tenure track) Lecturer (II) or Teaching Assistant Professor with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2027. The NRES Department has diverse faculty and students dedicated to solving critical environmental challenges with cutting-edge research. We are a research-intensive Department with a focus on field- and lab-based teaching, aiming to provide students with a foundation in scientific concepts and applied skills for careers in research, outreach and resource management.

Reno’s location at the intersection of the northern Sierra and the Great Basin provides close proximity to diverse landscapes for class field trips and other outdoors learning experiences. We offer both undergraduate and graduate programs, with undergraduate degrees in Environmental Science, Forest Ecology and Management, and Wildlife Ecology and Conservation.

The successful candidate will contribute to this mission by teaching a range of lower-division undergraduate courses. Potential courses may include introductory ecology, environmental science, natural resource management, environmental ethics
