Job Description

The Parking & Transportation Department is seeking students interested in employment in a Parking Enforcement position on campus.

Responsibilities
  • Enforce parking regulations and issue warnings and citations
  • Assist with general campus questions from students, staff, and visitors
  • Assist motorists with basic vehicle issues (battery jump, locked out of vehicle, etc.)
  • Monitor bike racks and issue warnings when necessary
  • Work large events including football games
Required Qualifications
  • Candidate must be enrolled at the University of Nevada, Reno
  • Candidate must have excellent customer service and communication skills
  • A valid Class “C” driver’s license or higher operator’s license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
  • The successful candidates must complete the Defensive Driving course shortly after hire.
  • Driving carts on busy campus roads along with pedestrians is required for this position.
Physical Demands & Working Conditions
  • Walking or standing to a significant degree
  • Pushing and/or pulling
  • Exerting 25 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 20 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects
  • Exposure to hot and cold temperatures when working outside
Schedule Hours

Monday – Thursday 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm

During Semester:
Up to 25 hours a week

During Breaks:
Up to 40 hours a week

Compensation

Compensation Grade Student Level 1 $ 13.00/hr exempt No Full-Time Equivalent 62.5%
