Reporting to the Systems Executive, the OFCI (Owner Furnished, Contractor Installed) Manager focuses on the intersection of logistics, technical commissioning, and relationship management. In a mission‑critical context, this person is the gatekeeper for high‑value equipment such as Switchgear, Generators, UPS units, Chillers, and CRAHs, ensuring that Owner‑provided equipment arrives, is installed, and energized without delaying the critical path.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain the Master Equipment Log, monitor factory production dates, and coordinate just‑in‑time delivery to avoid site congestion.
- Review submittals and shop drawings to verify that OFCI equipment footprints, weights, and connection points match on‑site MEP coordination drawings.
- Lead in‑process inspections, conduct pre‑offloading damage assessments, and verify receipt of all components, O&M manuals, and spare parts.
- Act as onsite point of contact for vendor technicians during installation and startup phases of specialized equipment, coordinating integration with the project schedule.
- Identify gap items—materials required for installation that are neither provided by the Owner nor the subcontractor (e.g., specific mounting hardware or specialized oils/coolants).
- Participate in Virtual Design and Construction meetings to ensure OFCI equipment matches the physical reality of phased builds.
- Manage receipt of modular units such as power skids or pre‑fabricated cooling blocks that require precision rigging and specialized grounding.
- Track serial numbers via customer‑specific asset management tools (e.g., G‑Tech or internal SAP instances) from factory to data hall.
- Drive coordination of Level 3 (Pre‑functional) and Level 4 (Functional Performance) testing phases, ensuring OFCI equipment interfaces with customer monitoring systems.
- Oversee the hand‑off of capital spares to the operations team post‑handover.
- Technical Expertise:
Electrical – MV/LV Switchgear, UPS systems, STS, and Backup Generators;
Mechanical – chilled water systems, cooling towers, CRAH/CRAC units, and DCIM integration;
Software – BIM 360/Procore and scheduling software (Primavera P6 or MS Project). - 5–8 years of experience in mission‑critical construction.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or Construction Management.
- Certifications:
PMP or LEED AP is a plus.
This is an active, hands‑on role. You will frequently be on your feet, navigate uneven terrain, stairs, ladders, and hoists, and lift materials up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally. The role also requires desk time for computer work and meetings.
Work EnvironmentYou will spend a significant amount of time on active construction sites, adapting to weather, moderate to loud noise levels, and confined work areas with moving mechanical equipment. Occasional office work will involve moderate noise levels. Safety is paramount, and you must follow Clark Construction’s safety policies and applicable laws.
High‑Performing CultureThe role demands significant commitment and flexibility to work extended hours, especially during critical project phases or client deadlines. You will be expected to respond promptly to phone calls, emails, and text messages as required.
