Position OverviewWoolpert is hiring an Aviation CAD Technician I to join our dynamic Aviation Team in Denver, CO. This position reports to the Aviation Design Lead and is responsible for creating CAD layouts and drawings for civil airport infrastructure projects. Qualified candidates will be proficient in AutoCAD and Civil 3D, with strong communication and design skills.
What You Will Do- Design and develop CAD drawings and layouts for airport infrastructure projects.
- Prepare dimensional and installation drawings using AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
- Review and interpret survey data in collaboration with survey analysts.
- Develop dynamic design models including points, alignments, profiles, and cross sections.
- Perform quality control checks on construction plan sets and project documentation.
- Coordinate with internal design teams, market disciplines, and external subconsultants.
- Maintain current knowledge of design software trends and support team adoption.
- Travel may be required for project coordination and site visits.
- Occasional overtime may be required to meet project deadlines.
- 0-2 years of experience in airfield design or related civil infrastructure projects.
- Ability to work proficiently with AutoCAD and Civil 3D (Civil Engineering design and documentation software) is required.
- Ability to communicate thoughts and concepts with team members.
- Strong knowledge with CAD set up using surveyor data.
- Possess knowledge of coordinate systems, cartographic layout and design techniques.
- Basic understanding of Civil engineering and design practices.
- Ability to prepare various support graphics for reports and meetings.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
