General Superintendent, Mechanical

American Battery Technology Company (ABTC) provides technical development and commercialization of domestic, sustainable sourcing of critical battery materials through lithium-ion battery recycling and battery metal extraction technologies for use in batteries that power electric cars, grid storage applications, and consumer electronics and tools. Our first of kind systems produce commercial-scale battery materials thataresold into the battery manufacturing supply chain.

As a General Superintendent, Mechanical, you will lead and oversee all field execution activities related to mechanical construction scopes, while supporting coordination efforts involving electrical systems and other disciplines. This role is responsible for managing daily construction operations, contractor performance, safety compliance, installation quality, schedule execution, and commissioning readiness across industrial and manufacturing projects. The ideal candidate has strong experience in mechanical systems installation within mining, chemical processing, manufacturing, energy, or industrial facilities and possesses a foundational understanding of electrical systems to support cross‑functional coordination with electrical and controls teams.

This individual must be capable of driving field productivity, resolving installation conflicts, supporting commissioning efforts, and maintaining alignment between engineering, construction, procurement, operations, and safety teams in a fast‑paced environment. This position requires a hands‑on leader who can proactively identify risks, coordinate multiple contractors and disciplines, and ensure work is executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with IFC drawings, specifications, and project schedules.

This role will report to the Director of Construction or Construction Manager and will work out of our facility at 2500 Peru Drive, McCarran Nevada.

• Lead and supervise daily mechanical construction activities including piping, equipment setting, structural supports, conveyors, tanks, pumps, utilities, HVAC coordination, and process systems installation.
• Coordinate field execution activities between mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, controls, and operations teams to ensure successful project delivery.
• Support planning and execution of facility shutdowns, tie‑ins, commissioning activities, and startup readiness.
• Monitor contractor performance, workforce productivity, installation quality, and schedule adherence across multiple scopes of work.
• Review engineering drawings, P&IDs, equipment layouts, isometrics, and construction packages to ensure proper field execution.
• Identify and resolve field conflicts, constructability issues, and installation challenges in coordination with engineering and project management teams. Participate in daily coordination meetings, safety walks, contractor alignment meetings, and schedule reviews.
• Ensure all work is executed in compliance with company safety standards, LOTO procedures, environmental requirements, and quality expectations.
• Coordinate material deliveries, equipment staging, installation sequencing, and turnover activities with procurement and warehouse teams.
• Support mechanical completion, punch list management, redline drawing updates, and turnover documentation.
• Assist with troubleshooting of mechanical systems and support electrical teams with basic understanding of power distribution, motor controls, and equipment interfaces.
• Track project progress, communicate schedule risks, and provide field updates to construction leadership and stakeholders.
• Drive accountability across contractors and internal teams to meet aggressive project milestones and commissioning targets.
• Support development of scopes of work, contractor bid packages, field change requests, and installation planning activities.
• Promote continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, productivity, and operational reliability.
