P5 Consulting Services is seeking a Water/Wastewater Project Manager for a highly respected, privately held regional civil engineering firm serving municipal, utility, and public‑sector clients in Northern Nevada and nearby California markets.

The Water/Wastewater Project Manager will lead and support planning, design, and delivery for water and wastewater infrastructure projects. This person will manage scope, schedules, budgets, design coordination, client communication, technical review, and team performance.
The strongest fit is a licensed engineer with technical maturity, practical judgment, clear communication, and a desire to influence both project delivery and the growth of a respected water/wastewater practice.
Core Responsibilities- Lead water and wastewater infrastructure projects for municipal, utility, regulatory, and public‑sector clients.
- Serve in responsible charge and support sound technical decision‑making.
- Coordinate, oversee, and direct project design teams through planning, design, documentation, and delivery.
- Develop, implement, and manage project schedules and budgets.
- Provide technical review, QA/QC, and practical guidance on project deliverables.
- Mentor engineers, designers, and technical staff while delegating responsibility appropriately.
- Serve as a primary client contact and maintain clear, professional communication.
- Support proposals, qualification statements, interviews, repeat work, and referral business.
- Partner with internal leadership to help grow and direct the water/wastewater technical practice.
The project mix may include water distribution systems, sanitary sewer collection systems, booster pump stations, lift stations, storage facilities, master planning, hydraulic modeling, water and wastewater treatment facilities, construction phase support, and related municipal infrastructure improvements.
Ideal Candidate Profile- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a closely related technical field.
- Nevada Professional Engineer license required.
- California Professional Engineer license preferred.
- Eight or more years of related water/wastewater engineering design and management experience.
- Demonstrated ability to serve in responsible charge on water and wastewater projects.
- Experience managing technical staff across multiple disciplines.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, including client and public presentations.
- Ability to manage several active priorities while protecting quality, schedule, budget, and client trust.
- Business judgment to support proposals, maintain relationships, and develop new and repeat work.
- Technically credible, practical, and steady with clients.
- Collaborative by nature, with enough confidence to maintain standards and protect quality.
