Embedded Software Developer – Las Vegas, NV

We are hiring an Embedded Software Developer for our Las Vegas, NV location.

Job Summary

The Embedded Software Developer will work primarily within research and development engineering groups with responsibility for a wide variety of tasks. The primary tasking is the design, development and integration of software across a multitude of platforms providing system instrumentation, radar control, and data collection. The position will also entail providing application and tool development to create system configurations, verify system performance, and ensure data quality.

We are looking for developers who work well in both theoretical and practical domains as part of an iterative process to create innovative solutions for a multitude of software domain challenges.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Technical proficiency in one or more of the following:
    Embedded software, RTOS, VxWorks, C++, C, C#, UI/UX/GUI design, .NET, Visual Studio, WPF (Windows Presentation Foundation), Object Oriented Design, Linux, QNX, Git, and Subversion
  • Understanding of Requirements Definition, Participatory Design, Usability Engineering, and Usability Testing
  • Proficiency with C# and Visual Studio on Windows and Linux platforms is desired.
  • Tasking will be assigned in planning and overseeing research, design, development, production, testing, installation, integration, operation, and sustainment/maintenance of diverse software for electronic and/or mechanical equipment and systems. The Developer will be expected to work in a team, and independently, to perform a wide range of design, development, analysis, and evaluation tasks under generally established project deadlines.
Requirements – Engineering Levels Engineer IV

A Bachelor of Science in engineering from an ABET-accredited academic institution and 8 years of related engineering experience, or an accredited Master of Science in engineering and a minimum of 6 years of related engineering experience, or an accredited doctorate degree in engineering and a minimum 4 years of related engineering experience are required. Must be a U.S. citizen and must qualify for and maintain a government security clearance.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of concepts, principles, and practices of engineering to provide consultative services on development programs and in the design and development of systems and components.
  • Knowledge and skill sufficient to apply the latest developments in engineering to solve complex problems in the specialty area.
  • Working knowledge of computer systems and computer‑based engineering tools.
  • Well‑developed leadership skills.
  • Ability to investigate, troubleshoot, and design solutions to problems from a broad prospective.
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills.
  • Planning/organizational skills and the ability to work under deadlines.
Engineer III

A Bachelor of Science in engineering from an ABET-accredited academic institution and 4 years of related engineering experience, or an accredited Master of Science in engineering and a minimum of 2 years of related engineering experience, or an accredited doctorate degree in engineering are required. Must be a U.S. citizen and must qualify for and maintain a government security clearance.

  • Mastery of concepts, principles, and practices of engineering that enable the employee to serve as a technical authority on projects relating to the specific programs.
  • Knowledge and skill sufficient to apply the latest developments in engineering to solve problems in the specialty area.
  • Working knowledge of computer systems and computer‑based engineering tools.
  • Ability to investigate, troubleshoot, and design solutions to problems in operational hardware and software.
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills.
  • Planning/organizational skills and the ability to work under deadlines.
Engineer II
