Senior Commissioning Manager
Lead and deliver commissioning and start-up activities for complex process control, instrumentation and automation projects. Responsible for ensuring safe, on-time and on-budget commissioning of DCS, SCADA, PLCs and field instrumentation, coordinating FAT/SAT/SAT activities, loop checking, instrument calibration and system integration across multidisciplinary teams and vendors. Drive compliance with safety and functional standards (IEC 61508 / 61511, SIL), handover to operations and continuous improvement of commissioning practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead FAT, SAT & commissioning activities
- Commission PLC, DCS, SCADA & RTU systems
- Perform loop checks, calibration & system testing
- Support PLC programming reviews and control strategy validation
- Integrate control systems, HMIs & industrial networks
- Commission field instruments, valves & actuators
- Verify I/O, wiring diagrams & control panels
- Ensure SIS/SIL compliance and support HAZOP reviews
- Review commissioning procedures, test scripts & documentation
- Coordinate vendors, contractors & site activities
- Troubleshoot startup, commissioning & operational issues
- Prepare reports, handover packages & training materials
- Drive continuous improvement across commissioning projects
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Instrumentation or Control Engineering
- 5+ years of commissioning experience in industrial/process environments
- Strong PLC, DCS & SCADA experience
- Experience with Allen-Bradley, Siemens, DeltaV, Honeywell or Yokogawa systems
- PLC programming (Ladder Logic, Function Block, Structured Text)
- Instrumentation expertise (pressure, flow, level, temperature)
- Industrial networking knowledge (Modbus, Ethernet/IP, OPC, Profinet)
- FAT, SAT, loop checking & calibration experience
- Ability to read P&IDs, control drawings & electrical schematics
- Experience with SIS/SIL and IEC 61511 standards
- Strong troubleshooting and startup support skills
- Vendor coordination and project leadership experience
- Willingness to travel and support field commissioning activities
