Electrical Field Engineer – Hybrid Energy Systems
We are partnering with a global provider of power and energy solutions to recruit an Electrical Field Engineer for a major hybrid energy project supporting data center infrastructure in Reno, Nevada. The role will support the installation, commissioning, validation and ongoing operation of large-scale power systems.
The RoleThe Electrical Field Engineer will work closely with electrical engineers, project managers, contractors, customers and site teams throughout project delivery.
Key responsibilities- Supporting cold and hot commissioning of hybrid power systems
- Testing and validating electrical equipment and system performance
- Troubleshooting electrical, mechanical and controls-related issues
- Coordinating installation, commissioning and testing activities on site
- Supporting the integration of battery storage, generation, switch gear, transformers and associated systems
- Developing and following commissioning, maintenance and testing procedures
- Providing technical support during project execution and into operations
- Supporting training for field technicians and other engineering personnel
- Feeding site-based findings back to engineering and product teams
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline
- Field engineering, commissioning or testing experience within power or energy systems
- Experience with one or more of the following:
Battery Energy Storage Systems, Microgrids, Gas or diesel generation, Electrical distribution, Switchgear, Transformers, Inverters, Transmission and distribution systems, Critical power infrastructure - Knowledge of electrical safety and hazard awareness
- Experience supporting installation, commissioning, maintenance or decommissioning activities
- Strong technical problem-solving and communication skills
- Willingness to relocate to Reno and commit to the project on a long-term basis
