Your impactJacobs is seeking an Area Mining & Heavy Industry Lead to support regional growth, client engagement, project delivery, and business development across mining and heavy industry markets. While mining is a key market, this role is intentionally designed to support a broad heavy-industry portfolio including mining, aerospace, manufacturing, industrial infrastructure, energy, water, and related sectors.
As the Area Mining & Heavy Industry Lead, you will help grow and support Jacobs’ portfolio of work serving resource extraction, processing, industrial manufacturing, and heavy industrial clients across Arizona and the broader Southwest. Based in Phoenix, you will partner with operations, sales, and technical leadership to deliver complex multidisciplinary projects while expanding Jacobs’ presence across high-value industrial markets.
This role combines client relationship management, pursuit support, business development, and project delivery oversight. You will serve as a trusted advisor to clients managing capital programs, environmental obligations, regulatory interfaces, operational challenges, and growth initiatives.
Key Responsibilities Client, Market & Sales Leadership- Serve as Client Manager, Account Lead, Project Executive, or trusted advisor for key clients across mining and heavy industry.
- Support development and execution of regional growth strategies.
- Identify, qualify, and champion new opportunities.
- Lead or support pursuits through client engagement, strategy development, and proposal execution.
- Build long-term relationships with client leadership teams and decision-makers.
- Represent Jacobs in relevant industrial and professional organizations.
- Provide oversight and support for complex industrial and mining projects.
- Support project planning, staffing, risk management, and execution across multidisciplinary teams.
- Monitor performance related to safety, quality, schedule, and financial outcomes.
- Partner with project managers and operations leaders to resolve issues and maintain client confidence.
- Apply technical and strategic judgment to projects involving environmental services, water management, permitting, remediation, infrastructure, operations support, and facility closure.
- Support development of cross-sector technical offerings applicable to mining and heavy industry.
- Encourage collaboration across environmental, water, civil, geotechnical, infrastructure, and industrial teams.
- Mentor and support professional development of team members.
- Assist with recruiting, onboarding, and development of key heavy-industry talent.
- Champion Jacobs’ culture of safety, inclusion, collaboration, and technical excellence.
- Bachelor's degree in a scientific, technical, engineering, environmental, business, or related field.
- Minimum 8 years of professional experience supporting mining, heavy industry, industrial manufacturing, natural resources, environmental, water, infrastructure, or related sectors.
- Experience supporting mining and/or heavy industrial clients.
- Demonstrated success in project delivery, client management, operations, account growth, business development, or related leadership roles.
- Experience delivering projects across complex industrial systems including mines, processing facilities, manufacturing plants, infrastructure projects, energy facilities, or similar environments.
- Proven ability to build trusted client relationships and contribute to business growth.
- Strong communication, leadership, collaboration, and decision‑making skills.
