CFO
The University of Nevada, Reno Foundation seeks an accomplished financial leader to serve as Controller, Foundation.
The Controller, Foundation provides executive-level leadership for financial, endowment, and investment reporting across the Foundation and its affiliated 501(c)(3) entities. As a trusted advisor to donors, the Board of Trustees, University leadership, and the Nevada System of Higher Education (NSHE), this role is central to ensuring transparency, accountability, and excellence in fiduciary stewardship—helping transform philanthropic vision into lasting impact.
This position supervises a team of professional and classified accounting and finance staff. This position is essential to maintaining strong financial stewardship, transparency, and compliance in support of the Foundation’s mission and long-term sustainability.
Required QualificationsMaster’s Degree and three (3) years of related professional work experience OR
Doctorate Degree and one (1) year of related professional work experience.
Related ProfessionalExperience:
- Experience should include progressively responsible financial management experience
- Experience preparing financial statements
- Experience managing financial audits
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
- Experience in non-profit or government accounting

The University is proud to provide a reduced-rate tuition benefit to faculty and qualified dependents. Faculty can take up to six credits per semester at a reduced rate. Dependents of faculty have unlimited credits, but in order to be eligible children must be unmarried and under the age of 24 and must receive at least 50% of their financial support from the employee and/or employee’s spouse or domestic partner.
