Government Relations Coordinator, Reno or Las Vegas Job Description
Under the direction of the Wadhams Advisors Government Relations team, the Coordinator assists with a comprehensive, proactive government relations strategy that advances the Wadhams Advisors (WA) mission and goals for clients with local, regional, state and federal elected officials.
Duties/Responsibilities- Researches and monitors government activities that could affect the organizations’ business and clients.
- Builds and maintains professional relationships with members of federal, state and local government entities and agencies.
- Builds and maintains professional relationships with Nevada Legislators.
- Coordinates in person and virtual meetings on behalf of the Government Relations Team.
- Assists in the development of a wide range of materials in support of WA’s Government Relations agenda including newsletters, talking points, legislative summaries, factsheets, testimony, reports and letters.
- Develops and implements advocacy and lobbying strategies.
- Attend in-person and virtual meetings and annual events as identified.
- Attends events to support the goals of the WA Government Relations team.
- Assists with the development and implementation of special projects.
- Performs other duties as required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Suite or related software.
- Experience with social media development and outreach preferred.
- Assist with research for monthly WA Government Relations projects and newsletters.
- Review relevant state agencies for meetings/workshops/regulatory items.
- Attend agency meetings as directed.
- Schedule and attend meetings as directed.
- Attend campaign fundraisers and functions as directed.
A bachelor’s degree and two years' experience working in government relations, government affairs, advocacy setting or similar preferred.
Commensurate with experience.
