Hemostasis and Thrombosis Center of Nevada is seeking an experienced Lead Medical Assistant to serve as the primary onsite operational lead for our Reno clinic. This individual will play a critical role in managing daily clinic operations while also providing high-quality patient care. This is not an entry-level role; we are seeking a seasoned medical assistant with strong back-office experience, leadership capability, and the ability to operate independently in a specialty practice.
The Lead Medical Assistant will function as the backbone of the clinic—ensuring smooth workflows, supporting providers, coordinating patient care, and maintaining operational efficiency.

- Administer injections and assist with procedures as appropriate
- Prepare exam rooms and maintain clinical supplies
- Ensure patient flow is efficient and patient experience remains a priority
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the Reno clinic
- Serve as the primary onsite point of contact for providers, staff, and remote administrative teams
- Coordinate schedules, manage patient flow, and identify workflow improvements
- Ensure clinic readiness each day
- Train and support any future clinical support staff
- Identify operational issues and proactively escalate or resolve them
- Support scheduling, referrals, prior authorizations, and medical records as needed
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation in the EHR
- Assist with inventory management and ordering of clinical supplies
- Maintain compliance with clinic policies, procedures, and regulatory standards
- Collaborate with management on process improvements and operational consistency
Required
- Certified or Registered Medical Assistant (CMA/RMA)
- Minimum 3-5 years of medical assistant experience (specialty practice strongly preferred)
- Demonstrated experience with both clinical patient care and back-office operations
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Comfort taking ownership of clinic operations and decision-making
Preferred
- Prior experience in a lead or senior MA role
- Experience in hematology, or other specialty practices
- Familiarity with EHR systems and specialty workflows
