Medical Assistant-Urgent Care is responsible for assisting physicians with patient care, clerical, environmental and organizational tasks. Responsibilities include appointment scheduling and chart management. Provide information to patients so they may fully utilize and benefit from the clinic services. Interview patients or their representatives to obtain identifying and verifying information (e.g., patient name, address, age, date of birth, social security number, occupation, insurance information) and obtain authorization.

Interface with the PBX operator and reception areas. Operate a computer to input and retrieve data. Communicate with the population served using age-appropriate techniques across neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, young adult, middle adult and geriatric stages. Maintain proficiency in medical terminology. Contribute to conveying a positive image of the organization.
