Pay: $35-$40 per hour
Job SummaryThe Respiratory Therapist is responsible for evaluating, treating, and caring for patients with breathing or cardiopulmonary disorders. This role involves administering respiratory therapies, operating life-support equipment, and collaborating with physicians and nursing staff to deliver high-quality patient care across various clinical settings.
Key Responsibilities- Assess, treat, and monitor patients with acute and chronic respiratory conditions
- Administer oxygen therapy, aerosol medications, and chest physiotherapy
- Perform arterial blood gas (ABG) sampling and analysis
- Manage and monitor ventilators, BiPAP/CPAP, and other life-support systems
- Respond to emergency situations, including code blues and rapid response calls
- Perform pulmonary function testing as required
- Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation in electronic medical records
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and infection control procedures
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited program
- Current state Respiratory Therapist license (RT or RRT)
- Active BLS certification (ACLS, PALS preferred depending on facility)
- NBRC credentialing required
- Strong knowledge of respiratory care procedures and equipment
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
