Position: ED TECH II,@ the NW McCarran FED, Per Diem, Varied Shifts

Our NW Free Standing ED provides 24/7 emergency care in a convenient Reno setting. As a full‑service emergency room, we can treat life‑threatening injuries as well as less urgent issues. A skilled team of emergency‑trained physicians, nurses, imaging and laboratory staff deliver high‑quality care. The ER features a wide range of capabilities and technology, is easily accessible, and has ample parking.

Responsibilities

We are looking for an ED Tech II who will assist with basic patient care based on individual patient needs within the scope of practice under direct supervision of the registered nurse. The candidate maintains an environment prepared for patient care.

  • Demonstrates supportive behaviors necessary for performing bedside report using IMAP & SBAR (completed in partnership with the patient inside the room).
  • Takes, documents and reports vital signs; reports abnormal results immediately to the registered nurse.
  • Assists the registered nurse and physicians during examinations and treatment.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and the skills necessary to provide age‑appropriate care to the patients served; interprets data to identify each patient’s age‑specific needs and provide appropriate care.

Qualifications
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • One (1) year experience in an acute hospital setting or with an ambulance service preferred.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Current EMT‑1 or EMT‑P certification (for ED Tech II) or CNA certification.
  • Basic arrhythmia course (may be obtained within six months of hire).
  • Medical terminology preferred.
  • Proof of intravenous skills through an EMT I/P program with validation prior to performing without supervision.
