Job Overview

This Surgical Services Materials Management Coordinator opportunity is full time, offers full benefits and a convenient day shift schedule. We are looking for a dynamic individual to maintain and troubleshoot all information systems that are used to provide operational support, scheduling, inventory and charging in Surgical Services; and to provide the financial and analytical skills.

Duties / Responsibilities:
  • Coordinates orders of medical supplies in collaboration with the clinical lead staff, etc.
  • Acts as the primary liaison with vendors to ensure availability and contracted pricing is met.
  • Reviews the next weeks schedule daily to ensure any needed special order items are available for surgical cases; coordinated special order items with the board runner.
  • Develops and maintains a process to provide a daily audit between HSS/Cerner and Financial systems; obtains CDM numbers when needed; works with Coordinator and Materials Management Surgery Buyer to perform ongoing maintenance and improvements to the CDM and facilitates the inclusion of new products and prices in the CDM.
  • Provides regular reporting including OR case volume, block time utilization, case mix and procedure.

Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Business Management, Nursing or equivalent work experience.
  • 1 to 3 years of experience providing system admin functions for an information system.
  • 1 to 3 years of experience working in a Surgery Department, either in inventory, purchasing or scheduling.
