Travel Ultrasound Technologist / Sonographer – Sonography/Ultrasound

Assignment Overview13‑week travel assignment in Reno, NV.
Shift: Tuesdays‑Fridays, 7:00 PM–5:30 AM (4 × 10‑hour shifts).
Start date:
ASAP.
- Inpatient imaging ultrasound department within an acute‑care hospital.
- Level II Trauma Center serving over 80,000 ER and trauma patients annually.
- All‑age patient population (infant to geriatric).
- Procedures include general, cardiac, and vascular ultrasound exams; invasive techniques such as paracentesis, thoracentesis, biopsy, contrast agent use, line placement assistance, and thrombin injection exams.
- Examinations performed in the ultrasound department and other departments and nursing floors as needed.
- Floating to other areas within the organization up to competency level may be required.
- Epic EMR used; training provided during orientation or candidates may test out.
- KRONOS used for time keeping.
- Minimum 2 years of clinical ultrasound/sonography experience.
- RDMS certification (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography) required.
- AHA BLS certification within 60 days of hire.
- Proficiency with diagnostic ultrasound imaging systems and reporting systems.
- Ability to perform exams across general, cardiac, and vascular modalities.
- Ability to provide care for patients ranging in age from infant to geriatric.
- License required if applicable.
- Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility.
- Performs complex diagnostic ultrasound procedures under the direction of a physician and department supervisor.
- Responsible for reviewing images for identification, technique, and completeness per governing body standards (ASE/ICAEL, SDMS/ACR, SVU/ICAVL).
- May mentor ultrasound students from CAAHEP‑accredited programs.
- Participates in accreditation and re‑accreditation processes.
- One additional shift pickup required per schedule period.
- At least 2 major holidays required during the contract.
- Blocked scheduling is not permitted.
- Travelers who have previously worked at this facility must complete a 13‑week break before returning.
- RTO must be disclosed prior to consideration; time is not added to the end of the contract to compensate for approved time off.
- AHA‑issued certifications are the only accepted format.
Estimated weekly pay range: $2,525 – $2,806 (higher end listed). Weekly salary: $2,806. Assignment total (13 weeks): $36,478. Annual equivalent (52 weeks): $145,912.
