Major duties include but are not limited to:

• Providing psychological assessment services and diagnoses mental disorders, particularly for complex or unusually difficult patients.
• Providing a full range of comprehensive, evidence-based psychotherapeutic interventions, including individual, couples, and group psychotherapy.
• Serving as an advocate/provider on behalf of the veterans in the PTSD clinical team to ensure delivery of comprehensive, seamless mental health specialty services.
• Identifying patient problems requiring consultation with other medical center staff and making appropriate referrals.
• Assurance that appropriate referrals to specialty programs, including community resources, are accomplished.
• Providing education to patients, family members, and significant others.
• Providing, and where appropriate, referring patients, families and significant others for counseling in health maintenance and disease prevention.
• Providing clinical supervision to various disciplines and levels of training.
• Consulting with peers and supervisors as appropriate.
• Complying with national and local performance measures, including timely health care screening and completion of clinical reminders for all patients.
• Complying with all CPRS documentation procedures, including timeliness standards for documentation and proper patient check out procedures (e.g., entering diagnosis and procedure codes).
