Sterile Processing Supervisor, Swing Shift

Job Summary

In conjunction with the Director of Surgical Services, the director of sterile processing will direct the hospital’s Sterile Processing Department program. The role involves overseeing a wide variety of administrative, personnel, fiscal, and technical activities and ensuring that the department meets or exceeds TJC requirements while maintaining a cost‑effective operation.

• Assure that the standards of operation of the department comply with regulatory agencies (CMS, TJC).
• Direct overall activities of the unit, including maintenance of labor standards and monitoring the department budget.
• Provide comprehensive orientation and ongoing training to all new and existing staff, maintaining documentation of staff competence levels.

• High school graduate or equivalent. Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred. Prior management experience preferred.
• Minimum of one (3) year experience as a Sterile Processing Technician.
• License/Certification required:
  Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) through Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) or Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) through Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD). Additional two certifications (Certified Instrument Specialist CIS and/or Community Health Level 3 CHL) must be acquired within two years of employment.
