Job Summary: Responsible for performing the basic activities and related professional services necessary in the care and handling of surgical instruments
Job Duties /Responsibilities:- Ensures proper operation of sterilizers (Steam, Ethylene Oxide and Sterrad units prior to use on a daily basis.
- Runs biological and chemical tests at beginning of the day shift for both SPD and the OR. Records results in appropriate log.
- Inspects all sterilizers for visible signs of malfunction and reports to SPD Supervisor.
- Cleans and decontaminates all equipment and instruments using the proper tools and cleaning agents.

Qualifications- High School graduate or equivalent.
- Minimum of one (1) year experience as Central Service Technician.
- Obtains national certification within 18 months of hire into the department.
