JOB SUMMARY:
The Exchange Enrollment Facilitator provides education and enrollment assistance related to Nevada Medicaid and Nevada Health Link to patients to ensure eligible patients receive insurance coverage. The EEF will educate patients on insurance issues, assist them in enrolling in insurance plans through the Nevada Medicaid portal, assist them in reenrolling, and ensure they understand how to access and maintain their health insurance.
- Listen actively to patients’ needs and provide clear, concise information.
- Engage with visitors, patients, vendors, and coworkers professionally.
- Handle incoming calls promptly, professionally, and efficiently.
- Educate patients on how to use the Nevada Health Link portal.
- Use the portal to enroll and reenroll patients in insurance.
- Responsible for training other staff on Medicaid and Medicare insurance issues.
- Completed all outreach to patients whose insurance may be near lapsing and need renewal.
- Manage schedule to ensure patients are seen in a timely fashion to enroll and reenroll in insurance.
- Stay up to date on changes to Nevada Medicaid and Medicare.
- Maintain uptodate knowledge of eligibility and insurance verification workflows and policies.
- Assist uninsured and underinsured patients in identifying financial assistance programs promptly.
- Participate in departmental meetings, trainings, workflow updates, and quality improvement activities.
- Ensure accuracy and confidentiality of paperwork, maintaining HIPAA and privacy standards.
- Communicate patient needs and updates via team chats.
- Send telephone encounters to appropriate team members to facilitate patient care.
- Document patient interactions and updates accurately in the EMR.
- Notify supervisor of any oncoming changes to policies at Nevada Medicaid and Medicare that may affect patient coverage or care.
- Manage challenging patient interactions using deescalation techniques.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing required.
- Knowledge of health care insurance required.
- Certification as an Exchange Enrollment Facilitator preferred.
- Spanish/English bilingual preferred.
- Thorough knowledge and experience of the health care industry preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills preferred.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a wide variety of people, including employees, patients, and the general public preferred.
- Ability to read and understand written materials and ability to compose information and instruction in written form preferred.

Due to real and potential conflicts of interest that exist when HOPES Behavioral Health providers render services to their coworkers, it is HOPES’ policy (Policy HR0005) that HOPES employees may not access HOPES Behavioral Health Services. For the same reason, current Behavioral Health patients/clients cannot be employed by HOPES. Accordingly, you hereby acknowledge and understand that if you are receiving services from a HOPES Behavioral Health provider at the time you are offered and accept employment with HOPES, you have the option of rescinding your acceptance of employment or finding a new behavioral health provider outside of HOPES before starting employment with HOPES.
