Scheduler Coder Analyst
This position's primary role includes performing duties in the Scheduler Coder Analyst job description and supporting the work of the Surgical Services Departments. Among the duties, this individual rounds with assigned operative areas to ensure optimal scheduling efficiencies to individual locations, rounds with service line leadership, ensuring timely communication regarding new procedures to be built, equipment updates, and participates in community outreach.
Under the direction of the leadership of the Surgical Services Manager/Supervisor, this position is responsible for the automated scheduling of all surgical cases through direct contact with the surgeons or surgical office staff, including marketing Renown Health Surgical Services to medical staff as appropriate. This position also reviews, develops, maintains, and reports appropriate OR utilization to the Business Manager for Surgical Services.
This position schedules all surgical cases for the surgical suites at both our South Meadows and Regional campuses. The biggest challenge for this position is meeting the desires of the physicians and patients while managing equipment and staffing conflicts. This position has the authority to prioritize work and to make scheduling changes to increase efficiency and customer satisfaction. This position ensures that all surgical information is accurately reported and interfaced.
It is important that automated processes are implemented where appropriate.
This incumbent will perform analysis and develop presentation of required data ensuring the information is accurate and understandable. This position will work closely with the Business Manager with the timely reporting of OR efficiency as it relates to First Case On-time Starts (FCOS), Block time utilization, and release times. This position will update service line coordinators of physician privileging updates, preference card creations, and new procedures to Renown.
This position will have access to proprietary information, mandating high standards of professionalism, communications, performance, and respect for confidentiality.
This position will train staff on Surgical Services Op-Time system functions including scheduling, coding, self-pay scheduling, as well as education regarding Scheduling Fax Form and Pre-Op Order requirements. This position will require face-to-face with provider offices as part of community outreach and marketing of Surgical Services. Other related duties, flexible hours, and overtime may be required. This position does not provide patient care.

Education:
Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English. Medical Terminology preferred. Bachelors Degree required. Proven experience in a similar role may be substituted for education.
Experience:
Three year hospital or physician office experience required. Surgical scheduling experience required.

Computer / Typing:
Must possess, or be able to obtain within 90 days, the computers skills necessary to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc. Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
