Assistant General Manager
” for the Gold ‘N Silver Inn . The Gold ‘N Silver is Reno’s oldest casual dining restaurant and has been a Reno landmark for over 60 years. The property has gone under a restoration and renovation that includes a neighborhood bar and updated dining room that will be a downtown Reno highlight for the next 60 years.

Essential Job

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Oversee daily bar operations, ensuring consistent service standards, quality, and efficiency
  • Lead and schedule bar staff, manage shift execution, and ensure proper staffing levels
  • Deliver exceptional guest experiences and manage guest recovery related to beverage service
  • Maintain bar cleanliness, organization, and equipment standards
  • Develop, execute, and maintain the beverage program, including cocktails, beer, wine, and spirits
  • Manage beverage cost controls, pricing strategies, inventory, and ordering
  • Analyze sales performance and trends to optimize offerings and profitability
  • Partner with the General Manager on promotions and revenue-driving initiatives
  • Plan and execute marketing initiatives, promotions, and special events
  • Manage social media presence for the restaurant and bar, including content creation, posting schedules, and guest engagement
  • Ensure marketing content aligns with brand voice, image, and business goals
  • Monitor engagement metrics and adjust strategies to increase visibility and traffic
  • Hire, train, coach, and develop bartenders and bar support staff
  • Enforce performance standards, accountability, and service expectations
  • Support onboarding, certification compliance, and ongoing skills development
  • Model professionalism, creativity, and responsible alcohol service
  • Ensure compliance with alcohol service laws, food safety standards, and company policies
  • Maintain Serv Safe Alcohol compliance and enforce responsible service practices
  • Document and respond to guest incidents related to alcohol service
  • Support inspections and audits related to bar operations
  • Beverage revenue growth and cost control
  • Strong bar guest satisfaction and engagement
  • Effective marketing and social media presence
  • Team performance, retention, and compliance
  • Full bar operation and beverage program accountability
  • Responsible alcohol service and bar compliance ownership
  • Ownership of bar marketing and social media execution

Skills, Education and Other Requirements:

  • Bar management or lead bartender experience in a high-volume environment
  • Strong beverage knowledge across cocktails, beer, wine, and spirits
  • Marketing or social media experience preferred
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Serv Safe Manager / Food Protection Manager (required)
  • Serv Safe Alcohol or equivalent alcohol service certification (required)
  • Identification that establishes identity
  • Identification that establishes the right to work in the United States
  • Gaming Registration
