Job Overview
The University of Nevada, Reno (UNR) seeks an experienced Employee Relations Lead to join its Human Resources team. The role reports to the Director of Human Resources and is responsible for managing and resolving complex workplace issues, fostering a positive employee experience, and ensuring fair, consistent application of university policies.
Responsibilities- Partner with HR, Legal, and business leaders to mitigate risk, conduct investigations, and strengthen organizational culture.
- Provide consultation to employees, supervisors, managers, and HR partners on federal, state, and university employment laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Conduct investigations and develop coordinated resolution strategies to address complex workplace issues.
- Provide guidance on collective bargaining agreements, labor-related policies, and employment law compliance.
- Provide training on employee relations/labor relations topics and engage with vendors.
- Fulfill other HR duties as needed.
- Bachelor’s Degree and four years of related professional work experience; OR Master’s degree and two years of related professional work experience.
- Experience in employee relations and/or labor relations, training development and delivery, workplace investigations, performance management, conflict resolution, and application of employment law.
- PHR, SPHR, SHRM‑CP or SHRM‑SCP certification.
Salary range: $85,000 – $105,000. Compensation Grade
C.
