Network Engineer – Cisco & Juniper specialist

Must have

• Experience with Cisco and Palo Alto technologies.
• Proficiency in the configuration of firewalls and switches.
• Ability to administer and support next-generation firewall and security solutions, including Palo Alto Networks or F5.
• Experience in setting up security policies, access control lists (ACLs), and threat prevention mechanisms.
• Skilled in managing Virtual Local Area Networks (VLANs), routing, and network segmentation across Cisco and Palo Alto platforms.
• Proven ability to monitor and maintain Wide Area Network (WAN) and Local Area Network (LAN) performance.
• Familiarity with implementing and supporting Web Application Firewalls (WAF) and other perimeter defense systems.
• Experience collaborating with Telecommunications teams to maintain communication channels with field devices, including Remote Terminal Units (RTUs) and Intelligent Electronic Devices (IEDs).
• Basic understanding of cabling infrastructure and general networking principles.
• Knowledge of routing protocols, particularly EIGRP and OSPF.
• Strong capability to work independently as a self-starter and adapt quickly with remote support.
• Willingness to travel up to 25%, mainly between Las Vegas and Reno offices, as well as to substations within the Nevada area.

• Implement and maintain Web Application Firewalls (WAF) and perimeter defenses to secure NMS applications from external threats.
• Collaborate with the Telecommunications team to support communication channels with various field devices connected through the Distributed Energy Integration platform.
• Assist with basic cabling infrastructure and general networking tasks as needed.
• Engage in independent work while effectively adapting to remote support conditions.
• Participate in travel duties to different office locations and substations as required.
