Position: Senior Application Analyst - EPIC Beaker (AP/CP)

Position Purpose

This position leads in the analysis, design, coding, testing, and implementation of new and existing application systems used within Renown Health entities. This position partners with the user community to resolve technical problems, application performance issues as well as leads optimization and enhancement efforts. This position oversees the design, configuration, testing and supporting of files and system changes within assigned products and scope, including system administration functions.

The incumbent in this position will be a primary contact for external users for designated product(s) and will assist in leading large projects. This position actively pursues research and development to ensure continued technology innovation for Renown aligned with our values and policies.

The Senior Application Analyst (Epic Beaker AP/CP Certified) is responsible for the design, build, configuration, testing, implementation, and ongoing support of Epic Beaker and related applications. This role will work alongside our implementation partner and Epic to support the implementation of Beaker, including workflow design, system optimization, and collaboration with clinical and operational leaders to ensure successful deployment.

Operating with moderate independence, the Sr Analyst translates complex clinical and business requirements into efficient, compliant solutions that enhance laboratory workflows, patient care, and operational outcomes. This position partners with IT teams, leadership, and end users to deliver reliable, high‑quality solutions supporting Beaker Anatomic and Clinical Pathology, while fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence. Experience with Data Innovations (DI) is preferred.

Nature and Scope

This position is responsible for a complex Healthcare System application environment that changes rapidly to meet the changing requirements of a growing enterprise of applications and is challenged with providing a reliable, flexible, and cost‑effective system environment.

  • Job duties may include activities that assist with application analysis, project coordination, customer support, security administration, training and liaison with customers.
  • Provides technical support, education and maintenance for the assigned application(s) and interfaces in support of the entire Health System.
  • Provides internal project coordination on all assigned application(s) and system upgrades, and partners with the project management team on strategic projects.
  • Leads the analysis, design, testing, and implementation of new and existing systems for the assigned application(s).
  • Collaborates with organizational leaders to resolve technical problems, application performance issues, and lead optimization and enhancement efforts.
  • Manages all assigned application security (i.e., user provisioning).
  • Supports the user community by addressing service desk calls and tickets related to the assigned application(s).
  • Serves as the conduit for submission of work requests applicable to the assigned application(s) and facilitates a timely response to the requestor, advising them regarding work scheduling, technical feasibility, technology compatibility, integration and interfacing.
  • Creates and maintains appropriate technical documentation based upon role, including standards for naming and numbering conventions, change control, environment management, and security classifications.
  • Demonstrates the ability to work on multiple tasks with high‑quality results and adherence to deadlines.
  • Develops Level of Effort estimates and accurately tracks actual time worked.
  • Works with a general level of supervision.
