Primary Purpose of the RoleThe Senior Data Analyst is a key individual contributor responsible for transforming complex data into meaningful business insights and actionable recommendations. This role blends strong technical analytics capabilities with a business‑focused mindset, partnering closely with stakeholders across the casualty and managed care business unit to drive informed decision‑making and operational improvements.

Essential Responsibilities- Analyze complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and performance opportunities, translating findings into clear business insights and recommendations
- Partner with business leaders and subject‑matter experts to define problems, shape analytical approaches, and influence strategic decisions
- Design, develop, and optimize analytical datasets and data models in Snowflake to support scalable reporting and insight generation
- Write complex SQL queries and leverage Python to extract, transform, and analyze data, enabling deeper business understanding
- Build and maintain dashboards that not only report metrics but highlight key insights, risks, and opportunities
- Use modern AI‑forward analytics tools (e.g., Hex, Snowflake) to perform exploratory analysis and develop repeatable workflows that support ongoing business evaluation
- Translate analytical findings into clear, concise, and actionable recommendations for leadership and cross‑functional teams
- Ensure data accuracy and integrity through validation, documentation, and adherence to governance standards
- Act as a trusted advisor by connecting data insights to business strategy and operational improvements
- Mentor junior analysts on both technical skills and insight generation best practices
- Strong hands‑on experience with Snowflake (data modeling, analytics use cases)
- Advanced SQL skills for querying and data transformation
- Python experience for data analysis, automation, and modeling
- Expertise in creating dashboards that drive business understanding and decision‑making
- Experience with Hex or similar analytics platforms
- Experience with Snowflake Cortex Code (CoCo), Cursor or other code‑generating AI tools
- Proven ability to work with large, complex datasets and translate findings into business insights
- Strong analytical thinking with the ability to connect data to real‑world business impact
- Demonstrated experience providing recommendations that influence outcomes
- Bachelor’s degree in Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, Business, or a related quantitative field.
- 5+ years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or business analysis‑focused roles
- Experience supporting operational or business teams with data‑driven insights and recommendations
- Insurance or managed care experience is a plus

As required by law, Sedgwick provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in jurisdictions requiring pay transparency in job postings. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide range of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and cost of specific location. For the jurisdiction noted in this job posting only, the range of starting pay for this role is $75,000 - $85,000/year.
