Position Description

Under general supervision carries out a range of daily operations such as cybersecurity tasks, and installation, testing, maintenance, and troubleshooting of systems including audiovisual equipment for courtrooms, network equipment, WIFI systems, and other IT systems. Additional responsibilities include acting as a vendor liaison,providing technical assistance, end-user support, ensuring network reliability and security, and performing other related duties as required.

Supervision Exercised

Exercises no supervision over other employees; however, does serve as the lead on cybersecurity and audiovisual projects and tasks, collaborating with Court Technology staff to ensure system integrity and security.

Examples of Important and Essential Duties Network, Infrastructure and Cyber Security
  • Monitor and maintain courtroom network systems, including Extreme and Cisco Wi-Fi and switches, ensuring reliable connectivity and data integrity.
  • Implement and enforce security protocols for A/V and IT systems, including encryption for video conferencing and evidence handling.
  • Assist in developing and updating cybersecurity systems, antivirus, email security, and Microsoft security.
  • Conduct regular audits of systems to identify and mitigate security risks, coordinating with IT staff to address vulnerabilities.
  • Assist in developing and updating cybersecurity policies to align with District Court standards and industry best practices.
  • Respond promptly to security incidents, collaborating with IT teams to resolve issues and minimize disruptions.
Audio/Video Support
  • Source codecs and proprietary players for audio/video evidence, coordinating with external venues and maintaining a secure, shared database for defense attorneys via the District Court Technology Department.
  • Assist with A/V help desk calls as needed, troubleshooting issues and ensuring secure data handling.
  • Act as the point of contact for video conference meetings, implementing secure connections and protocols.
  • Perform equipment additions, removals, repairs, and inspections, ensuring compliance with security standards.
  • Assemble and disassemble A/V equipment, maintaining operational and secure configurations.
  • Demonstrate expertise in Q-SYS and/or Justice Audio Video Systems (JAVS) for troubleshooting and support.
  • Provide responsive A/V, network, and computer support during trials and hearings, ensuring equipment and laptops function reliably, with availability during business hours.
  • Diagnose and resolve equipment issues, replacing parts or cables as needed.
  • Assist with delivering training to attorneys, support staff, and clerks on courtroom A/V systems as needed, emphasizing secure and effective use.
  • Assist court personnel in navigating technical challenges, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment.
  • Contribute to, maintain, and develop court A/V systems to ensure proper security and system integrity.
  • Work directly with support technicians and vendors.

  • Provide technical assistance and training on A/V, network, and IT systems, ensuring secure and effective use.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues, taking responsibility for timely solutions.
  • Implement and maintain network security measures, including monitoring and updating systems.
  • Evaluate and recommend secure technology solutions based on user needs and court standards.
  • Document system configurations, security protocols, and procedures clearly and concisely.
  • Stay updated on technology trends, cybersecurity threats, and industry best practices.
  • Establish and maintain effective, collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Communicate technical concepts clearly, both verbally and in writing.
  • Prioritize tasks, resolve conflicts, and coordinate with teams to meet court objectives.
