Training Specialist

The Training Specialist designs, delivers, and supports end-user training programs for large, complex projects, with a focus on Oracle NMS solutions and business transformation initiatives. This role reviews and validates training materials, creates workflows and user support resources, and plays a key part in driving end-user readiness, adoption, and change management within a dynamic, growing project team.

Responsibilities:

  • Review and validate training materials and documentation to ensure accuracy, clarity, and alignment with project objectives.
  • Develop training workflows, work instructions, and user support resources that guide end users through new processes and systems.
  • Participate in train-the-trainer sessions to prepare super users and internal trainers to effectively deliver training to broader audiences.
  • Deliver live end-user training sessions, both individually and as part of a coordinated training program.
  • Coach and support super users and end users to build confidence and competence with Oracle NMS solutions and related workflows.
  • Provide end-user readiness and adoption support, helping stakeholders transition smoothly to new tools and processes.
  • Support change management and business transformation initiatives by aligning training activities with project milestones and organizational goals.
  • Manage document control for training materials and related content, maintaining version control and accessibility.
  • Engage stakeholders with strong facilitation and communication, gathering feedback and adjusting training approaches as needed.
  • Create and refine training content that is easy to understand, practical, and tailored to diverse end-user groups.
  • Manage multiple training and support priorities in a challenging, fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines and quality standards.
  • Demonstrate self-starter behavior by proactively identifying training needs and proposing solutions to improve user adoption.
  • Provide leadership and coaching within the training function, contributing to the development of best practices and standards.
  • Obtain NERC CIP certification as required for the role and maintain compliance with relevant training and security standards.
  • Travel as needed to deliver training and provide on-site support, with expenses reimbursed in accordance with company policies.

Essential

Skills:

  • High-level end-user training experience, including designing, delivering, and supporting training programs for complex systems.
  • Hands-on experience with end-user readiness, training delivery, and adoption support in a project or transformation environment.
  • Knowledge of Oracle NMS solutions and the ability to translate system functionality into clear, practical training content.
  • Experience in creating workflows, work instructions, and structured training content for diverse user groups.
  • Strong facilitation skills with the ability to lead live training sessions and train-the-trainer workshops effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to engage stakeholders and convey technical concepts in an accessible manner.
  • Proven stakeholder engagement skills, including the ability to build relationships and collaborate with project teams and end users.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks in a challenging, fast-paced environment while maintaining quality and attention to detail.
  • Self-starter mindset with strong leadership and coaching abilities to guide super users and peers.
  • Capability to support document control for training materials, including organization, versioning, and distribution.
  • Willingness and ability to obtain NERC CIP certification as required for the role.
  • Ability to travel as needed to support training delivery and end-user adoption.

Qualifications:

  • Experience working on large projects or within a large projects team environment.
  • Experience in training development, including designing curricula, creating instructional materials, and structuring learning paths.
  • Experience providing end-user support and troubleshooting questions related to training content and system usage.
  • Familiarity with change management and business transformation practices and how training supports these initiatives.
  • Comfort working with document control processes and tools to manage training documentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a small, collaborative team of dynamic individuals.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail when planning training schedules and managing resources.

Work Environment:

This role is based in an office environment within a larger corporate building in Reno, Nevada. The Operations Analyst division maintains its own dedicated area with offices, cubicles, and a small kitchen space, fostering a close-knit, collaborative atmosphere.
