PROGRAM AND LOCATIONVOA‑NCNN, a Certified Great Place to Work, is recruiting for a full‑time Director of Operations position in Northern Nevada. Full‑time employees (working 30 or more hours a week) are eligible for a benefits package that includes paid holidays, vacation, sick pay, health, dental, vision, life, and short‑term disability insurance coverage.
POSITION SUMMARYThe (Regional) Director of Operations is a critical leadership role responsible for overseeing the operational infrastructure, processes, and resources needed to meet the goals of Volunteers of America. This role ensures the efficient functioning of the organization, supporting program delivery, managing daily operations, overseeing financial and administrative processes, and contributing to strategic planning and execution. The Director of Operations will work closely with the Chief Operating Officer, program directors, managers, and other key stakeholders to ensure alignment with the organization’s mission and strategic objectives.
OBJECTIVES/ ACTIVITIES
- Operations Management
- Oversee daily operations, ensuring efficient and effective processes across all programs within the region.
- Manage and improve operational systems, processes, and policies to support program delivery and organizational growth.
- Establish and maintain SOPs for operational activities to ensure consistency and quality.
- Collaborate with executive leadership on strategic planning initiatives and long‑term goals.
- Manage and execute special projects and organizational initiatives that support growth and innovation.
- Establish and monitor KPIs, tracking organizational performance and addressing areas for improvement.
- Continuously identify opportunities to improve client, staff, and organizational outcomes.
- Financial Oversight and Budgeting
- Work with the finance team to develop and monitor annual budgets, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Oversee financial reporting, compliance, and risk management, ensuring accurate documentation and accountability.
- Lead efforts to streamline financial processes and increase operational efficiency.
- Human Resources Management
- Hire, develop, motivate and hold accountable a team of up to 12 Program Directors & Managers.
- Ensure program compliance with employment laws and organizational policies.
- Foster a positive workplace culture aligned with the organization’s mission and values.
- Facilities and Technology Management
- Collaborate with the Facilities Director to meet the site and facility needs pertaining to maintenance, grounds, security, and janitorial services.
- Lead efforts to optimize the use of technology in support of operational goals, ensuring data security and infrastructure stability.
- Compliance and Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with nonprofit regulations, industry standards, and organizational policies.
- Manage organizational risk by implementing effective safety protocols and ensuring proper documentation.
