Full Time - Pay Range: $115,000 - $150,000 / Year
The Director of Client Services for Phar Merica is a strategic and valued part of Phar Merica. Under the general direction of the VP of Account Management, the Director delivers on the company's value proposition to its clients in the Western United States. They lead a team of Senior Account Managers and Account Managers. The Director cultivates and maintains on‑going strategic client relationships and partnerships at all levels of the organization to achieve the company revenue, growth, and retention goals.
This position is 70% travel and should reside within the assigned territory.
Schedule:
Monday–Friday, hours dependent on business needs. Territory:
California, Nevada, and Utah.

- Drive retention and growth of a large book of business across a given team.
- Assess, identify and train the talent on their team and appropriately assign account responsibilities.
- Develop Account Managers into promotional candidates for a future position.
- Track expiring client contracts, identify risk and own the strategic plan for renewal, including pricing and contract negotiation. Own post‑mortem plans for accounts lost and develop strategies to avoid future losses.
- Deploy Phar Merica's advanced, consultative, and strategic approach to account management, including successful implementation and promotion of various corporate initiatives.
- Engage with C‑Suite, Regional or Facility leadership to discuss Monthly/Quarterly Business Reviews and Pharmacy Optimization Services.
- Oversee client issue escalation process and collaborate with key internal partners, elevating high‑level issues for complete resolution.
- Monitor team performance on activities, tasks, contacts and other material events with clients.
- Prepare quarterly or semi‑annual Book of Business Reviews with Management.
- Work with other company disciplines to assure corporate standards are achieved.
- Attend client and Phar Merica corporate/networking events and conferences.
- Conduct job responsibilities in accordance with the standards set out in the Company’s Code of Business Conduct and Ethics, its policies and procedures, the Corporate Compliance Agreement, applicable federal and state laws, and applicable professional standards.
- Education:
Required BA/BS;
Desired MBA. - Work Experience:
Required 5‑10 years managing a team in a client management, customer service, or client support role; previous experience with team management in a healthcare or B2B setting. Desired related experience in pharmacy industry. - Skills/Knowledge:
Required ability to present to all levels of management; excellent time‑management; basic computer skills; advanced Microsoft Office proficiency; outstanding problem‑solving skills; experience in root cause analysis; ability to collaborate cross‑functionally; experience working within a team. Desired previous experience in a project management and client‑facing customer service role; strong administrative management background with ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines; strong experience in business writing.
