Position Summary
Range and Sheep Manager for the Rafter 7 Merina and Merino Rambouillet flock, located in Eureka, NV. The manager will oversee daily operations of an arid rangeland and private pasture environment, ensuring high‑quality lamb and wool production and contributing to rangeland research.
Responsibilities- Manage daily operations of the Rafter 7 flock, including feeding, health monitoring, and grazing management.
- Coordinate with herders, research scientists, and outreach teams for educational and research activities.
- Support research on multiple species grazing, wildlife interactions, disease control, and best management practices.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Rangeland Sciences, Agricultural Sciences, or Veterinary Medicine with at least two (2) years of related experience.
- Master’s Degree in the same fields with at least one (1) year of related experience, or
- Doctoral Degree in rangeland, agricultural, or veterinary sciences with no prior experience required.
- Experience in rangeland management and animal care.
- Fluency in English and Spanish.
- Valid driver’s license.
Variable work schedule with required travel across rangelands.
Compensation and BenefitsSalary commensurate with education and experience, based on the Administrative Faculty Grade schedule.
