We are seeking an experienced M&E Pharma Team Leader to direct and coach a team of 8-14 exempt and non-exempt employees supporting comprehensive congress planning, registration, and attendee management for our dedicated pharmaceutical accounts. In this role, you will provide strategic leadership to clients, oversee congress planning initiatives, and drive operational excellence while fostering a positive team environment that maximizes both service delivery and employee engagement.

What

You'll Do:

  • Oversee all congress planning tasks, registration processes, attendee management, and budget development for assigned pharmaceutical accounts.

  • Lead weekly team meetings to discuss volume, productivity, customer deliverables, processes, and service levels while providing performance-based recognition and rewards.

  • Manage financial documentation and audit event files to ensure all terms of value (TOV) requirements are met and operational profitability is maintained.

  • Resolve escalated customer inquiries and coach direct reports on research and resolution strategies while maintaining proactive communication with key client contacts.

  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs), best practices, and process improvements to enhance service delivery and client satisfaction.

  • Analyze client survey results and benchmark data to identify improvement opportunities and develop service recovery plans with measurable goals.

  • Ensure healthcare compliance monitoring and measurement across the team while maintaining current employee-related documentation and payroll systems.

  • Strategize with operations leadership on financial forecasting, staffing models, and operational measures to track results and ensure accountability.

  • Manage special projects and cross-functional initiatives as assigned by operations leadership.

What We're Looking For:
  • Minimum 5-7 years of leadership experience managing event, pharma, or meeting management teams.

  • Proven people leadership skills with demonstrated impact managing large teams.

  • Strong analytical abilities and knowledge of business financials, contracts, and service levels.

  • Extensive knowledge of congress planning and the pharmaceutical meeting industry.

  • Proficiency with Cvent and other meetings industry technology platforms.

  • Ability to develop and maintain strategic partnerships with key client and supplier contacts at multiple organizational levels.

  • Demonstrated success in handling multiple projects and demands simultaneously while maintaining quality standards.

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with clients and internal stakeholders at all levels.

  • Experience in developing win/win solutions and resolving complex problems across functional departments.
