ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Primary duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the box office.
  • Interview, coach and counsel Box Office team members as well as train and monitor team member performance to ensure company guidelines are followed and guests are receiving the best service possible.
  • Check/monitor all points of access to ticket purchases daily.
  • Review weekly/daily schedules for appropriate coverage pertaining to special events, holidays, or low business volume expectations.
  • Continuously monitor and work at controlling labor and equipment costs. Review daily/weekly payroll and compare to forecast.
  • Respond promptly to guest inquiries and requests and train personnel on guest service standards.
  • Directly supervise and assist at the box office before each show.
  • Cover for the Box Office Manager on days off and PTO.
  • Attend and participate in meetings in order to be informed of new rules, regulations and procedures, and to discuss scheduling and/or other concerns of the hotel/casino and/or department.
  • Any other duties as assigned within the scope of this position.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
  • Must be able to work independently and to supervise, train and motivate others.
  • Strong knowledge of audience interaction and crowd control.
  • Ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work with interruptions and to perform multiple tasks while remaining collected in high pressure situations.
  • Ability to defuse negative situations and deal with customers and team members in a tactful, professional and respectful manner.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ticketing programs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability of simple math and complex reading, writing, and task completion skills is required.
  • Must have the following skills: clerical, compiling, coordination, analyzing, supervising, instructing, precision working, following instructions, influencing others, memorization, problem solving, independent judgment, and decision making.
  • Flexible to work all shifts including holidays, nights, and weekend hours as business needs dictate.
  • Must be a minimum of 21 years of age.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • Previous supervisory experience required.
  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 2 - 3 years’ experience in box office operations with prior Ticketmaster system knowledge is preferred, or any combination of education, training, or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES
  • Must be able to maintain Alcohol Awareness card.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • While performing the duties of this job, the team member is constantly sitting, standing, walking, and occasionally reaching overhead, bending over, crouching and kneeling during the duration of their shift.
  • Must be able to push/pull and lift/carry 10lbs or less occasionally.
  • The team member will frequently have repetitive use of both feet. Team member will constantly have repetitive use of both hands and frequent light grasping motions. Team member will have occasional use of firm/strong grasping motion. Finger dexterity of both hands will be constantly required.
  • Constant use of vision abilities is required including distance, depth perception, field of vision, and color vision.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work performed indoors, alone and frequently with and around others. Team Member will perform work face-to-face including verbal contact with others on extended shifts in possible confined areas around computer equipment and other electrical devices.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Team Member may be exposed to vibrations, dirt/dust, fumes/odor and/or secondhand smoke.
