Available Shift
- Days: 6am – 6pm
While working in a safe, effective manner and maintaining quality, supervise and ensure compliance with safety, quality, production, waste, housekeeping, and cost reduction goals for all shift employees. Ensure that employees are properly trained and equipped to perform their jobs to achieve and exceed Company goals and objectives.
Responsibilities- Understand, administer, and enforce all corporate and plant safety and compliance rules for employees under direct supervision
- Utilize lockout/tagout as required; ensure guarding is in place and employees follow procedures
- Monitor and maintain a safe work environment
- Reinforce PPE policies; require steel-toed shoes, hearing protection, safety glasses, hair/beard nets, etc.
- Keep the production area clean and organized in accordance with 6S standards
- Ensure employees receive safety training under the direction of the Compliance Manager
- Monitor and ensure adherence to food safety policies and procedures
- Contiguously monitor all aspects of bag and bale quality, following corporate and plant quality procedures to meet waste standards
- Meet or exceed production goals for the shift
- Supervise performance to ensure work runs on schedule and meets safety, quality, production, and waste standards
- Maintain lubrication and adjustment of machines to sustain optimal speeds; assign personnel as needed
- Reassign employees to other machines during breakdowns and perform repairs/adjustments
- Follow priority schedule to meet customer satisfaction
- Enter daily production and downtime records into the computer
- Monitor waste to meet plant management waste standards and goals
- Follow GMP and food safety requirements
- Understand labor agreements and company policies; hold employees accountable per guidelines
- Coordinate with Human Resources to address turnover issues
- Verify payroll hours; manage overtime; handle Kronos approvals and corrections
- Address employee inquiries on vacation time and attendance
- Administer corrective actions based on attendance per labor agreement
- Evaluate employee performance with input from Adjuster Supervisors; administer counseling or disciplinary actions as needed
- Train shift employees on standards; discipline as necessary with HR support
- Collaborate with Production Manager, HR Manager, and Compliance Manager for retraining and retention decisions
- Assist with first-step grievances with HR involvement
- Coordinate breaks and meals to ensure requirements are met
- Meet or achieve safety, quality, production, waste, housekeeping, and cost goals set by management
- Follow all company rules and guidelines
- Avoid unsafe practices; comply with safety rules and policies
- Follow machine-specific safety rules in the Forming Department
- Train new employees; ensure their wellbeing and safety during training
- Complete training documents in a timely manner
- Cooperate with fellow employees and supervisors
- Minimize waste while meeting production standards
- Achieve quality products while maintaining production standards
- H.S. diploma or GED
- At least 2 years of manufacturing experience
- Team player with a “can do” attitude
- Computer skills: MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Ability to multitask and manage high workflow
- Able to lift 50 lbs
- Ability to motivate, coach, and train new employees
- Works well independently or in a team; self-motivated with minimal supervision
- Ability to provide constructive feedback to trainees and management
- Basic math and computer skills; problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work in extreme weather conditions (hot and cold)
- Ability to stand for long periods; basic troubleshooting skills
- Excellent communication skills; ability to read and comprehend English
- May be required to work beyond or outside normal hours due to production levels
A reasonable estimate of the current range is $65,000 - $80,000 + bonus + benefits. Pay within the range is determined by experience, education and skills. This posting reflects salary ranges across US locations.
