Senior Network Technician, Convention Services

Field Technology Expert - Hospitality (FTE)

Mobile Convention Center, 1 S Water St, Mobile, AL 36602. On‑site required all working days.

• Provide expert knowledge and support for network deployments across Hospitality environments, ensuring 100% uptime during events.
• Serve as a subject‑matter expert (SME), staying current on technology, products, and services through ongoing training and certification activities.
• Analyze technical specifications for new equipment or applications, evaluating feasibility and identifying downstream impacts.
• Target large, multi‑customer, complex issues and projects, delivering focused resolution and troubleshooting for network, property, and virtualized‑technology escalations.
• Act as an advisory resource to Hospitality field operations, NOC, service desk, and regional leaders, sharing best practices and contributing to cross‑regional communities of practice.
• Support back‑office troubleshooting, including interface and application analysis, trend identification, and root‑cause reporting.
• Participate in system improvement initiatives, recommending operational enhancements and efficiencies across Hospitality networks.
• Provide specialized training and mentoring to technicians, reinforcing skills and knowledge as needed.
• Assume flexible work hours, including unscheduled days, and perform physically demanding tasks such as ladder work, tool handling, and equipment transportation.

• High School diploma or GED with at least 5 years of convention services or Hospitality experience
  * or* 3 years in networking, IT, or telecommunications.
• CCNA or equivalent associate‑level network certification.
• Proficient with Cat3/5/6, coax, single‑mode and multi‑mode fiber cabling installation, termination, and maintenance.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365, Secure
  
  CRT, PuTTY, Cisco IOS/Prime, Solar Winds, Aruba AOS/Airwaves, Xirrus, VoIP, and other relevant IT tools.
• Excellent interpersonal, presentation, verbal, and collaborative skills to work effectively across the organization.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and to troubleshoot complex technical problems.
• Valid driver’s license (if required) and willingness to travel overnight as needed.
• Meet all physical and environmental requirements listed below.

• Experience with managed services providers (MSP).
• Convention services experience involving large exhibits and meetings.
• Event or Hospitality IT service management experience.
• SCTE certification.

• Handle equipment and tools up to 50 pounds, lift and carry ladders and cable rolls (up to 63 lbs and 1000‑ft rolls). Use hand‑hold ladders and harnesses providing 1AA ladder support up to 375 pounds.
• Perform physical tasks such as bending, stooping, crawling, climbing ladders and utility poles, and working in confined or high‑altitude spaces.
• Tolerate commercial controlled indoor environments and uncontrolled outdoor temperatures, both hot and cold, for extended periods.
• Differentiation of color‑coded wires and ability to distinguish wire colors.
• Undergo a physical exam to verify these requirements or obtain explicit medical clearance if needed.

Base salary range: $81,400.00 – $ per year. Additional incentive compensation may be available.

Flexibility to take as much vacation with pay as consistent with duties and company needs; seven paid holidays per year; up to 160 hours of paid wellness per year; and additional paid time off for bereavement, jury duty, volunteer activities, military service, and parental leave.
