Job Description & How to Apply Below
A day in your steel‑toed boots4:00 PM. You’re at your station, reviewing work orders and blueprints. You select the right tools and gauges, dial in angles, and run a test bend. Micro‑adjustments get you to a first‑piece pass. From there, it’s all about rhythm—loading material by hand or with a hoist, collaborating with teammates to keep parts moving, and checking every bend with calipers, protractors, and a sharp eye for tolerances.
You keep the area clean and efficient. Between runs, you lubricate, inspect, and protect the tooling. You follow PPE and machine safety protocols and report any malfunction immediately to keep downtime to a minimum. Quality isn’t an afterthought—it’s built into every step.
Core responsibilities
Complete press brake setups for each job, selecting tools, gauges, and angles appropriate to the print.
Perform test bends and fine-tune until first‑piece accuracy is achieved.
Interpret blueprints and follow work orders/job travelers precisely—no guesswork.
Verify dimensions and angles using calipers, micrometers, and protractors; catch and correct defects (over/under bends, warping) early.
Load and position material safely (by hand or hoist) and coordinate with the team to maintain flow.
Maintain machines and tooling: lubricate, inspect, and keep everything in top operating condition; adhere to safety requirements.
