Job Summary

As a material handler, you have a passion for great service and ensure the accurate and timely fulfillment of customer orders for our Barnes & Noble stores and .com customers. You take pride in assuring product is available to complete the order fulfillment process, taking care to minimize any quality issues. A material handler consistently meets or exceeds the daily production goals and is comfortable performing these duties in a warehouse environment and in accordance with our Core Values.

Temporary

$18.50 per hour

• Adhere to all safety protocols and foster a safe work environment.
• Palletize, put away, and ship product in a timely and accurate manner.
• Work on the warehouse floor, performing repeated lifting, bending, and reaching up to 50 lbs., and stand for long periods as needed.
• Rotate within all material handler functions, including loading and unloading, providing trays and case pack materials within the Packing Department, and other duties as assigned.
• Work with a sense of urgency and care, ensuring individual and department daily production goals are met or exceeded.
• Assist new hires and department transfers in a friendly and approachable manner with any questions they may have.
• Communicate positively with all booksellers and management.
• Comply with all company policies and procedures.
• Remain flexible with schedule during peak season as business needs arise.

• Can multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a safe manner at all times.
• Possess basic written, verbal, and mathematical communication skills.
• Is detailed and accurate.

• Prior warehouse experience is preferred.
