Abrasive Blasting Technician — Powder Coat Prep Picture your shift starting with a quick equipment check: the blast cabinet hums to life, media levels are right where they should be, and the dust collection system is dialed in. You review the work queue, choose the ideal media for each part — from aluminum oxide to glass bead — and lay down an even, consistent blast pattern that sets every surface up for a flawless powder coat.

You inspect your work, confer with finishing teammates, and keep the booth spotless so the next run moves just as smoothly.

Openings & Schedule Hiring one Day Shift and one Night Shift role Night Shift hours: 4:00 PM – 2:30 AM (Monday–Thursday)

Role Summary Prepare metal components for finishing by removing rust, scale, coatings, and contaminants through abrasive blasting. This work is key to achieving high-caliber finishes and demands attention to detail and strict safety discipline.

What You Will Handle Set up and run blasting equipment to create the correct surface profile for powder coating and other finishes

Select and manage blasting media (aluminum oxide, glass beads, steel grit, and more)
Maintain consistent, uniform blast patterns to spec Inspect parts before and after blasting; flag defects and collaborate with the finishing team Perform routine maintenance; keep blasting areas organized; dispose of used media properly

Follow PPE and OSHA standards; monitor ventilation and dust collection; promote a safe, production-focused environment

What You Bring1+ years in sandblasting, industrial painting, or similar preferred

Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skill

Strong attention to detail; able to work independently and as part of a team

High school diploma or GED preferred

On-the-job training is available for candidates with a strong work ethic and eagerness to learn.

Physical Demands Lift up to 50 lbs Stand for extended periods

Comfortable working in an enclosed blasting booth with full PPERegular exposure to dust, noise, and abrasive media
