Maintenance Technician

Location: Reno/Sparks, NV
Schedule: Monday–Friday
Pay: Starting at $18.00/hour (DOE)
Employment Type: Full-Time

Position Summary

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for supporting the daily maintenance operations within a manufacturing/production facility. This role focuses on improving equipment reliability, ensuring workplace safety, and reducing downtime through preventative maintenance and effective troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with the installation and commissioning of new equipment
  • Schedule and perform preventative maintenance and repair activities
  • Troubleshoot machinery and equipment issues to minimize downtime
  • Analyze equipment failures and implement preventative solutions
  • Maintain electrical, lighting, HVAC, and facility systems
  • Service and maintain company vehicles and forklifts, including recordkeeping
  • Track and maintain maintenance history for all equipment
  • Manage maintenance supplies and inventory, including vendor coordination
  • Provide technical guidance and support to team members on maintenance and safety initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and assist with safety programs
  • Coordinate proper storage and disposal of hazardous materials
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Minimum 2+ years of experience in manufacturing or production maintenance
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
  • Knowledge of basic electrical systems, connections, and components
  • Ability to read and interpret machine manuals and electrical diagrams
  • Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and compliance requirements
  • Experience working with industrial equipment (plastics, sheet metal, or similar preferred)
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
