About the role
Machinist (2nd Shift) – Tool & Die at Eaton’s ES GEIS BLD division, Reno, NV. Pay: $34.20 per hour plus $0.50 shift differential. Core hours 2:30PM – 11PM.

- Determine and assess damage to existing tooling and decide on necessary repair steps.
- Determine if a die is dull or cracked and whether it needs to be resharpened or repaired.
- Diagnose poor product quality to identify whether the cause is a tooling problem or a setup problem.
- Perform die changeovers for different products.
- Read blueprints and use calipers, micrometers, and tape measures for dimensional checks.
- Minimum 3 years machining experience in an industrial environment.
- Ability to read blueprints and use calipers, micrometers, and tape measures for dimensional checks.
- Proficiency in operating lathes, grinding machines, milling machines, drill presses, and surface grinders.
- Communicate effectively in written and verbal formats.
- Work safely and effectively with minimal supervision.
- Stand on feet continuously during the shift; regularly lift 35lb; occasionally up to 50lb with assistance.
- Read and interpret technical documents, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Function independently in a multi‑task environment and as part of a team.
- Manage multiple and conflicting priorities.
- Strong verbal and written communication, persuasive, and analytical problem‑solving skills.
- Strong organizational, presentation, and conflict‑resolution skills.
- Proficient with computers and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint).
- Wear required personal protective equipment and comply with safety policies.
- Occasional stooping, bending, and walking; must remain on feet all day.
